Mexicana airlines and a hospital in San Antonio, Texas, announced Thursday new medical vacation packages for Mexicans that include airfare, hotels and an exam by U.S. doctors. The packages, sponsored by San Antonio's Methodist Healthcare System, will go on sale Monday. Three physician groups in San Antonio are participating.
The packages also include options like referrals for a specialist or help purchasing tickets to a show or amusement park.
Pemex collaborates with petrobas
State-owned oil monopoly Pemex said Thursday that Brazil's Petroleo Brasileiro SA, or Petrobras, is sharing information with it on deep water oil exploration and drilling.
"They're experts in deep water drilling, and we're going to school," Pemex Chief Executive Luis Ramírez told chemical industry executives here.
Ramírez said the cooperation is part of an agreement that Pemex signed with Petrobras four years ago, and that the company isn't giving anything in exchange "at the moment" as part of the collaboration. "They have been an extraordinary partner. They're a role model for Pemex," Ramírez said.
Pemex lacks the capital and technological know-how to tap an estimated 54 billion barrels of crude equivalent in its Gulf territory, half of which lies at depths of 500 meters or more.
